National Assisted Living Week takes place September 13-19 this year, and we’re happy to be celebrating here at Riverchase Senior Living in Hoover, AL. What is National Assisted Living Week?
National Assisted Living Week is a time for us to celebrate all the good that comes from assisted living across the country. Every year, NALW helps us recognize the caretakers, community staff, volunteers and senior residents who make assisted living special. By fostering independence and overall well-being among community members, these individuals make a lasting impact on the lives of the seniors they interact with.
Why We Celebrate at Riverchase Senior Living
National Assisted Living Week is an important time for us here at Riverchase Senior Living in Hoover, AL, because of our personal connection to the community. The people we get to work with at our Hoover community work tirelessly to support our community members, and that’s something worth celebrating.
We use this week to recognize all of the hard work and passionate care that goes into making our community home for so many seniors here in Hoover.
How We’re Celebrating this Year
This year at Riverchase, as well as at all Cavalier Senior Living communities throughout Alabama and Georgia, we’re celebrating NALW by holding special events throughout the week, starting with our kickoff day on September 13th.
The 13th also happens to be National Grandparents Day, which lines up perfectly with our kickoff day. National Grandparents Day is an important holiday for our community, as many of our senior community members are also grandparents. This gives another reason to come visit and celebrate NALW week with us if your loved one is a part of our community.

If you want to help us celebrate National Assisted Living Week here at our senior community in Hoover, here are a few ways you can do so:
– Visit a loved one in assisted living
Come stop by our Hoover community, or whichever community your loved one may be a part of, and visit with them for a while. Visits can go a long way in making a great day for the seniors in your life, and this is a great time to do so.
– Tour an assisted living facility
National Assisted Living Week is also a great time to tour an assisted living facility near you. If you’re looking for a community to join yourself, or on behalf of a loved one, touring Riverchase Senior Living or another community nearby can be a very helpful next step.
– Create something special for a community resident in your life
Writing a letter or creating artwork for a community resident in your life is a meaningful way to show them you’re thinking of them. It’s also a great way to get children involved in showing love to the seniors in their lives. Gifts like these can mean the world to seniors in assisted living.
